A Book That Has Made A Big Difference For Me

My mother and sister died in a plane crash when I was in high school. Afterward, a close friend gave me a book called “Thoughts from the Pattaya Orphanage”. It’s full of quotes and photos of the orphans. I think only a few thousand copies were ever sold – to raise money to hire a full-time nurse.

I’ve reflected a lot about these kids in Thailand – about their circumstances and the human condition. I’m inspired by them. I’ve reflected on the quotes and photos thousands of times.

They give me perspective when life is good; and they give me perspective when things are tough.

Where do you turn to ground yourself, remind of yourself of your humanity and gain inspiration to overcome your present circumstances?
